Building better retirement solutions for DC savers

As access to Defined Benefit schemes reduces, particularly within the private sector, a growing number of savers will soon rely on the pot they’ve accumulated through Defined Contribution (DC) provision to generate an income in retirement.

This sea change brings with it considerable challenges for a new generation of pension savers, who will need to make vital choices that affect their future financial wellbeing.

Ensuring DC provision can adequately support workers in retirement has been a key focus for schemes in recent years. And industry innovation and collaboration will be key to building at- and post-retirement solutions that better meet the needs of current and future generations of DC savers.

At our recent event, we considered some of the challenges facing the industry when it comes to plugging the retirement solutions gap. We also explored a variety of options that are already available, or being developed, to convert accumulated funds into a sustainable source of retirement income.
